JoBoE Lab
Research

The general focus of the JoBoE Lab research activity is towards the development of strategies for regeneration and repair of bone, cartilage and intervertebral disc tissues, searching for methods to stimulate the body's intrinsic repair ability or to engineer implantable tissues. The research interests include the following topics.

→ The setting of suitable in vitro experimental models resembling the pathophysiological conditions, paying particular attention to the cellular microenvironment and the cell culture conditions.

→ The study of the molecular mechanisms underlying osteogenic, chondrogenic and discogenic differentiation.

→ The development of new biological approaches to treat intervertebral disc damage.
